This is Still my Story

It is fair to say that we are not always prepared for the curve balls that life throws at us. This last year alone is my evidence of life’s curveballs! As a parent, I try to prepare my sons for the world, but there are some curveballs that they will have to hit on their own. Some curves are thrown the way that will knock us off track when we miss the hit or target. Some repeated obstacles cause us to lose balance and possibly even faith! I was there and I will say that sometimes I am still stunned by some of the curve balls that happened in my past. There was no way that my parents could have prepared me for some of the things that I encountered! There is no way I could have successfully hit every target causing a home run in every game. However, a failure is only a failure if I failed to learn from it! How we deal with events, situations, or even people will often reveal in us things that we may need to work on or walk away from! We will not be able to hit every target! However, Christ offers a way of escape! Let us look at what the word of God says, 1st Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

I cried, got angry, even wanted to say a few choice words. However, today I am still writing my story! I’ve learned from yesterday and my story continues! The point is…. you may never be prepared enough to face every opposition, yet Christ has given us the power to overcome them all.

What Curves have you experienced this year, week, or far past? Which curves taught you the greatest life lessons? Remember this is still your story!
