Reeds & Shadows

Ever went fishing on a pier and notice the reeds growing near the land line? If you are unfamiliar with these plants, they appear to be sturdy or firm, but are hollow inside. It’s also possible during the day that the shadows that form from those reeds give the appearance of height. It’s an incredible wonder how God will use a natural thing to remind us of the victory that we have over darkness. Reeds are often just like people that allow themselves to be used by the enemy. They give the appearance of sturdiness on the outside, but they are hollow on the inside. They will draw your attention to their appearance by becoming tall and boisterous. They like to grow in muddy places. Because of their appetite for messy places, they are often hollow in the inside, meaning they have no sustaining power. They work harder at their appearance rather than dealing with the emptiness inside. Don’t fall for this act or appearance. Be encouraged to go past the shoreline and be filled with the Spirit. Allow the word and character of Christ to infill you with His Character and His Word. A reed may always be present or around, yet Christ has provided us a way of escape.

Let’s pray,

Lord, remind me to let my faith in you guide me and lead me. Let me not become captivated or entangled by those who have given themselves over to be used by the enemy. Draw me closer to you and to your word so that I may have sustained power to fend of every attack. Let your character and Holy Spirit reign in me. Renew my mind daily in you and cause me to become a pillar of strength. It’s your word that is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

It’s in Jesus’ name we pray.

Victoriously Worshipping!
