My husband and I frequently go on walks, or should I say he frequently goes, and I tag along on occasions! I noticed that while walking there were points that I had to stop, and he continued with his pace. When he stopped, I had to either play catch up by pushing a little harder or watch the endurance that he has from behind. At first it was unsettling that I could not keep up! However, I realized that he had conditioned himself to endure! Should this make me disappointed in myself? Well, I will reference to this scripture,
“ The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work] (Hebrews 12;1-2 AMP).
I realized that although our endurance does not look the same, our destination was! I realized that his race was different than my race and he had been conditioned for his walk, but our destination was the same! It is the same with our walk in Christ. What someone else has been conditioned for may not be what you are conditioned for. However, do not give up! Keep going to reach the goal. We all may stumble, become distracted, or even off track. The method to reaching your destiny is to keep going! Learn to create a healthy environment for yourself by finding Christ minded, instead of like minded people to share this journey with! Christ’s endurance means that you will strip off the weights of sin and the things that keep your mind in a place of regression! Find partners who will push you in this race! By the end of my race, my husband put his hand on my back and said “Okay! You are almost there! You have to keep your pace!”. I say the same to you! You must keep the pace and reach your destination but endure!
Victoriously Yours,
Kasi
