A Mother's Affirmation

On this Mother’s Day I am reminded of something my mother said to me when I was a teenager. She said, “When a black man puts his mind to do something, no one can stop him.” Now applying this to those who are apart of the Kingdom of God. Rather you are black, white, red, purple, etc., when you put your mind to do what God has called you to do, no one can stop you. It starts in our minds when we have made the decision to do what God has called us to. Romans 8:5-8(AMP) tells us where our mindset should be, it states,

5 For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]. 6 Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; 7 the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot, 8 and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God.

On this Mother’s Day I would like to encourage Mother’s to continue to speak affirmations to your children and let them know that they can become whatever God’s calls them to. No matter how bleak it may look now, keep reminding them if they put their minds to do what God has called them to, no one can stop them, God will make sure of this. Remember, Moses stuttered and had a bad temper, Saul (Paul) persecuted the saints, but when they set their mind to do what God called them to do, they accomplished great things.

Worshipping Victoriously,
